We are home this weekend after spending a whirlwind but exciting weekend in Callaway Gardens as David participated in the MS 150 for the 8th year in a row. We decided to go down as a family at the last minute on Friday night (after Nana and Pops got sick, leaving Lyric and I wondering how we could possibly have a fun weekend with just the two of us :), and arrived in time to check into a hotel and get to sleep before getting up to take David to the start of his 100 mile Saturday race.
Lyric and I enjoyed the gardens with our friends Jennifer, Amelia, Sophie and Lily, and, after a brief stop for lunch, met David at mile 88 and the last rest stop before the end. The picture above is Lyric enjoying some of the loot David collected, and getting ready to say goodbye until the finish line. With the 6 -Gap Century in Dahlonaga coming up next weekend, David was glad to get a training century under his belt to help him prepare for the arduous race 7 days from now.
After having a restful evening with just the 3 of us, we took David back to the start for his Sunday 60 mile ride. He finished in about 3 hours and after lunch we headed home in time for Lyric to get a much needed nap. Even though David did a lot of riding in 2 days, we all had fun just hanging out together and enjoying our last few months as a threesome. We've included some pictures of our fun times here, so check them out when you get a chance.
