It's been a while since we've posted, so we thought we'd give everyone a quick update on what we've been up to since the MS ride in mid-September. David participated in yet another century ride the last weekend of September in Dahlonaga GA. It's called the 6 Gap Century and it is 100 miles and a total of 11,000 feet in climbs. It covers the 6 Gaps in the North Georgia Mountains, with the largest being Hogpen gap; a 7 mile climb with a 2 mile, 60 mph screaming descent. David finished in 8 hours, and was really proud he didn't have to walk his bike up any of the mountains :).
A few other things we've done: We finished out our summer time fun in Decatur by attending the last of the Concerts in the Square. We got some great pictures of Lyric with her best friend Lily. We also took in the North Georgia State fair in Marietta, Ga. Lyric fed some goats and got to pet and see some interesting animals. We also spent a morning at the Fernbank Museum of Natural History. Lyric had fun at the featured exhibit: Antarctica. She pretended to be a polar bear and penguin, and had a great time. Pictures are here. Next week, I will post pictures of Taylor's visit, and hopefully we will get it together enough to have some shots of Lyric's new room. We continue to make progress on getting ready for Quinn's arrival. We should be getting his crib set up this weekend and hopefully his room totally in order. Only 7 weeks left (and if Quinn follows Lyric's lead, maybe as little as 5: Yikes!)!
